_ blood and sculk aren’t too different when your organs are screaming at you _ |

this was terrible. absolutely terrible. bun was on his period. he'd specifically took medication to prevent this, he couldn't exactly govern a faction while writhing in pain. yet, because of his clock slipping out of his pocket yesterday and him losing track of time, he missed a day. leading him to where he was now. he'd locked himself in his office despite the diplomats and his assistant, archivist, pounding on the door asking for him. every time he'd shout something about being busy while trying his best to sound like his organs weren't screaming at him. he currently was curled in the corner of his office, practically sobbing as his insides churned. until his sobbing was cut off by the unmistakable sound of someone struggling to crawl through his window. bun glanced up only to see scribe halfway in his office, clutching at his stomach and clinging to the windowsill with his leg hooked over. bun stared for a moment in disbelief. "what the fuck are you doing?!" his face was contorted in confusion, pain, and near laughter. scribe's head whipped up, a deer in headlights. it was frozen for a minute before sputtering out, "shut up, i'm in pain!" while haphazardly pointing in bun's general direction. "i am too!" bun shouted back, glancing over to where a camera would be so the audience would know how confused he is before turning back to scribe just as he fell through the window with a thunk. scribe groaned in pain against the hard wood floor, a bit of sculk flaking off his skin and fluttering to join him on the ground. "it's shedding season.." he mumbled, still a bit dazed from the fall, clearly. bun scootched over to where scribe had fallen, tapping at his head until he looked at him. "what does that mean?" scribe yanked bun's knees down from where they'd pressed against bun's chest and crawled into resting his head against bun's thighs. "it means pain, my glands scream at me for a week and i shed my phyllids." he nuzzled further into bun, little bits of sculk rubbing off into neatly pressed suit pants. bun absentmindedly slipped a hand into scribe's hair to have something to distract him, scratching at scribe's scalp while little bits of sculk continued to flutter in the air. "that's literally just what i'm experiencing right now.." the words trailed off into a mutter. "well, despite this shedding thing." scribe pushed it's face up until it was somewhat visible while still staying against bun. "that sucks," it blinked one eye after the other, wincing for a moment at a presumable cramp. "wanna watch a movie about it?" bun paused for a second, almost considering for a second. "i can't, i have document to g-" a sharp pain stabbed through his lower abdomen, causing him to double over scribe for a moment. "yeah.. yeah, a movie sound's good." he squeaked out through the pain, cursing his body for doing this to him. they managed to shimmy their way into the stuffy side room, bun plugging in the old crt and dvd player. scribe was already comfy on the bed, towel wrapped around him to keep bun's bed from becoming glow in the dark. bun stretched out, elbows popping. he undid an extra button on his shirt for comfort before glancing back at scribe. "i only have barbie dvds, do you want to watch rock n royals or spy squad?" scribe shook himself out like a dog, a cloud of either sculk dust or spores poofing off of him. "i don't care, pick whatever." bun rolled his eyes at the clear disregard for barbie and popped in the spy squad dvd. typical. he shoved himself into the small bed with his heating pad, curling into scribe. scribe was quite warm now that he thought about it. one would expect sculk beings to be cold, but it made more sense that they were warm, internal temperatures likely adjusting to the naturally cool caves. scribe wrapped arms around him as the movie went on, distance getting fewer and fewer until scribe laid atop him, head in his neck and presumably taking advantage of the heating pad now between them. despite the shedding sculk and circumstances, this was actually quite comfortable for bun. maybe today wasn't so bad. |
